Welcome to the sixteenth episode of Grow Your Business Podcast brought to you by Manchester based WebProjectUK.com.
I hope you have had a great weekend and that you are ready to push your business to the next level this week.
In today’s podcast I am going to share with you my top 5 reasons why you need influencers to boost your restaurant profits.
If you are new to digital marketing then it’s possible that you are also new to influencer marketing. So, I think it would be a good idea to actually explain what influencer marketing is and how is works.
So, let me start with explaining what influencer marketing is..
The term “influencer marketing” is centred around using someone who has a influence in your market. For example this could be a local food blogger or a local celebrity. Influencers normally have a very good following on social media platforms. Therefore, the more followers they have the better influence they will have in your market sector.
Now let me explain how influencer marketing works…
The aim of influencer marketing is to tap into their audience by paying the influencer to post your marketing message on their blog or social media platforms. The amount you pay for this service will depend on the popularity of the influencer. The research has shown that influencer marketing generates much higher engagement rate on social media platforms.
Influencer marketing is nothing new. However, before the birth of social media this type of marketing was only available to big companies with massive marketing budgets. Today, you have access 1000s of micro influencers who will promote your message for a fraction of the cost.
Therefore, you have no reason not to apply influencer marketing to your restaurant business.
If you are still not sure how influencer marketing can benefit your restaurant business than let me give you, 5 reasons why you should be using influencers to boost your restaurant profits.
My first reasons is:
By utilising Influencer marketing you will increase your online visibility. One of the best marketing methods for any type of restaurant is “word of mouth”. So you could say that influencer marketing is similar to “word of mouth” marketing but with better control. Yes, you will have to pay for it! But on the other hand you will have instant exposure to 1000s of new potential customers, who actually care what the influencer has to say.
My second reason is:
Based around search engine rankings. If you are new to search engine optimisation then you might be confused at this point. So, I will need to explain my thought process into more detail. One of the major Google ranking factors is “backlinks”. Google measures how many quality websites link back to your website. For example one backlink from BBC website would have a much higher influence on your search engine rankings then a local directory site for example. However, getting a link from the BBC website is not going to be easy. Hence why we focus on more realistic options i.e. influencer marketing.
By applying “influencer marketing” to your restaurant business you will gain valuable backlinks to your restaurant website along side targeted exposure.
My third reason:
Is centred around Brand awareness. In order to built a sustainable restaurant business you need to built your brand image. Now, you might think Branding is reserved for the big fish. However, that is far from the truth. Brand image is important to all businesses therefore, it makes no difference if you are a small restaurant business who only serves local customers or a restaurant chain with venues around the UK.
The best place to start with your restaurants brand building is to ask yourself this question: Why does my restaurant business exist? You need to find your unique selling proposition. This question is not always easy to answer. So, I recommend you spend few weeks thinking this over.
Once you have the answer to the “Why” question then you can start to spread your brand message through influencer marketing.
My fourth reason:
Influencer marketing is very cost effective compared to other forms of marketing. Also, it can be applied to almost any marketing budget. Let me put it this way. If I was looking to market my own restaurant on a limited marketing budget then “influencer marketing” would be on top of my list.
My fifth and last reason:
Influencer marketing can help build winning and lasting partnerships. When it comes to business success the larger your network of people the better chance you have of reaching your business goals. Therefore, it’s important to think of influencer marketing as a long term strategy rather then a one off.
Before, I close this podcast let me recap on what I shared with you today.
- Influencer marketing allows you to target your ideal customers.
- Influencer marketing can help increase your online visibility.
- Influencer marketing can help boost your search engine rankings
- Influencer marketing is very cost effective compared to other forms of marketing

If you are still unsure if influencer marketing will work for your restaurant business then let me share with you this case study.
UK bar and restaurant chain “All Bar One” carried out a micro influencer marketing camping with the aim of increasing their brunch sales. During the campaign the chain saw a 28% increase in brunch sales across it’s venues. However, this is not where the story ends. The chain also experienced higher engagement on their social media posts, as well as exposure to over 175,000 social media users.
I will now leave you think these figures over.
