Manchester PC – #No 1 For Laptop and Computer Repair In Manchester – Case Study

Four years ago we started working with Manchester PC – a local computer repair and laptop repair company in Manchester. Fast forward to 2022, and Manchester PC is now number one for 100s of computer services related keywords such as laptop repair manchester, computer repair manchester, Dell laptop repair manchester, Asus laptop repair manchester, and the list goes on.

We are very proud of this achievement, but we couldn’t have done it without the full support of the Manchester PC team. Search engine optimisation is a two-way process. The quality content we produced for Manchester PC could only be achieved if both companies worked together. We had the writing and SEO skills, while Manchester PC helped us understand their client base.

When we started working with Manchester PC, their website consisted of only a few pages. Because at the time, the company generated the majority of its leads through Google Adwords. However, in 2019 Google decided to ban all third-party tech support adverts. The move was a disaster for Manchester PC.

Their leads started to dry up within days, but the overheads continued. With limited sales, the company director Admir was about to throw in the towel. This single move by Google nearly took the company under.

“I always knew that having all of our eggs in one basket was a risky business. But I could never foresee this blanket ban on tech support ads by Google. It was unethical and completely unjustifiable. Sadly, Google was way too powerful for us to do anything about their decision. My only option was to think outside the box, and the time was ticking fast. When pushed into the corner, you have to find a way out. Blaming others will not make things better. It was my fault for allowing Manchester PC to get into this situation. Therefore, I had to lead the company out of this mess. That is when I contacted WebProjectUK for help,” – Admir said.

When we started working with Manchester PC, this is how their website looked.

Our first step was to redesign their website to reflect the fantastic brand that Manchester PC is. But this was a complex task as the website lacked content or structure. So, we started with a blank canvas. But time was limited, and so was their budget. But we have been asked to save this company, and we were happy to take on the challenge.

The company didn’t have a brand image. The logo was terrible, and so was the green colour scheme. Therefore, we came up with the navy blue and orange colour scheme that stands out from their competitors. Which is a true reflection of what Manchester PC stands for. Unlike many of their competitors, they are based in Manchester and specialise in laptop and computer repair.

Their knowledge and expertise in the field were of great help to us. They knew what keywords we needed to target from the start. For example, laptop repair Manchester is one of the top money keywords, and so is computer repair in Manchester. However, this is just a tiny fraction of what we had to achieve to satisfy the director.

Once we had the colour scheme and logo in place, we started working on the new website design. Manchester PC team was particular about every page, and every space on the website had to be accounted for.

We have never worked with a director with so much knowledge about lead generation. Admir has studied 100s of websites and has developed his perfect lead generation page design. We learned a lot from Admir due to his exceptional attention to detail.

We had to think about each button position and even how the button behaved during and after the page loaded. The forms had to be tested 100s of times internally and externally. Each page was tested on various devices, from iPads to android devices. We also had to try the website on different screen resolutions and write unique code for each different screen size.

The input we got from Manchester PC during the design stages was outstanding. We knew that the website content would be the best we had ever created from this moment. Purely because we knew that the Manchester PC team would check every word we wrote, and they would not be afraid to tell us where we needed to improve.

As I mentioned earlier, SEO and content are two-way game. The more input we get from the client, the better the result. So, working with a team that is so in tune with their marking was brilliant.

Six months and 100s of hours later, the new Manchester PC website was launched. Within days the website catapulted to the top of Google for several vital keywords. But this was just a start of a strong business relationship between WebProjectUK and Manchester PC.

Today Manchester PC ranks number one on Google for 100s of keywords. We are still constantly improving the content and the site because SEO is always evolving.
